AI Pulse

Local GUI automation agent for regulated-industry knowledge workers who can’t send screenshots to the cloud

Customer: Solo compliance analyst or paralegal at a 10–50 person firm — owns their own machine, runs repetitive multi-app workflows (copy from court portal → paste into case management → log in spreadsheet), IT won’t approve cloud tools, personally accountable if data leaks

Problem: Repetitive cross-app desktop workflows eat 1–3 hrs/day; every existing automation tool (Zapier, Make, even Copilot) requires cloud API calls with screen data — instant compliance veto in finance/law/healthcare

Pricing: one-time — $1,200 in first 90 days (12 × $99 lifetime licenses)

Why now

Mid-2026 open-weight model wave (Holo3.1-class) finally puts capable vision-language models on consumer GPUs — 12GB VRAM threshold crossed for 4-bit quants. Regulated orgs now have a credible ‘no cloud’ answer for the first time. Window before big vendors (UiPath, Automation Anywhere) ship local-model versions is 6–18 months.

Go-to-market

  1. Post a 90-second screen recording to r/paralegal and r/financecareer showing the agent refiling a form across 3 apps with zero cloud calls — lead with the compliance angle, not the AI angle
  2. Cold DM 20 solo/small-firm paralegals on LinkedIn with a free beta key; require a 15-min feedback call in exchange — use calls to find the single most painful workflow to double down on
  3. Ship a self-contained Windows installer (NSIS or Inno Setup wrapping Ollama + model + the agent) so target persona never touches a terminal — remove every technical barrier before charging
  4. List on Gumroad at $99 lifetime; add a visible ‘all processing local, no data leaves your machine’ badge and a one-page plain-English data-flow diagram to convert compliance-anxious buyers

Moat (or lack thereof)

No real moat. PyAutoGUI + local vision model is reproducible in a weekend. Edge comes from: (1) installer polish that non-technical regulated-industry users can actually run, (2) a library of pre-built workflow templates for legal/finance tasks, (3) early reputation in niche communities. All three erode once Microsoft or UiPath ships local compute mode — probably 12–18 months of runway if lucky.
